BENJAMIN H. KAIL

President & CEO

Benjamin Kail is the founder and owner of Iron Wheel Energy Services, a Midland, Texas-based Energy Services Company. He has worked in Oil & Gas since March 2011 when he co-created PMK Trucking (2011-2014), an asset-based leasing company operating in Odessa TX. Mr. Kail began full time work in the energy service sector in December 2012, managing PMK and co-founded TegraExcel Oilfield Logistics and Energy Services in March 2013.

He was the President & CEO of TegraExcel Energy Services and was responsible for the day-to-day operations and oversight of 40 full time employees and at its peak, 165 full-time drivers and contractors/owner operators. TegraExcel Energy Services was primarily a sand hauling company that started with 10 trucks in 2016; the company peaked in 2018, adding over 150 trucks to the fleet.

Customers Mr. Kail’s companies have worked for include publicly traded companies: Paterson UTI (Universal Pressure Pumping), Solaris, NextTier, STEP Energy, Schlumberger, Halliburton, Liberty, US Silica and Hi-Crush, and many privately held companies including Atlas Sands, AST, Triple Crown Resources, and Alamo Pressure Pumping. In 2020, Mr. Kail created Iron Wheel Energy Services.

Prior to founding TegraExcel Energy Services, Mr. Kail worked for the international investment bank RBC Capital Markets (Royal Bank of Canada) as a Senior Financial Analyst. His primary duties included servicing a $1.2 billion portfolio of senior and mezzanine real estate loans and asset management of REO (bank owned) properties in the portfolio. He has extensive experience with industrial, multi-family, office, hotel, and retail properties. Before working for RBC, Ben was with CW Capital Asset Management as a Financial Analyst and Invesco Real Estate in Acquisitions/Valuations and Asset Management. His financial background began in 2005.

Benjamin Kail has a Masters degree in Real Estate & Finance from the University of Texas at Arlington and graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in Economics. As CEO & President of Iron Wheel Energy Services, Mr. Kail oversees all financial accounting, day-to-day operations, and management of the company. Benjamin Kail lives in Midland, TX with his wife and family, in the heart of the United States’ most prolific and important continental oil region.

MIKE ONTIVEROS

Vice President – Operations

Mike Ontiveros is the Vice President of Operations for Iron Wheel Energy Services. Mike has over 10 years of experience in oilfield services, ranging from Facility Management to Inventory Management, Operations, and Field Coordinating. Companies he has worked for in the past include Key Energy/Universal Pressure Pumping, Advanced Stimulation Technologies, TegraExcel Energy Services, and Sandbox Logistics.

Mr. Ontiveros is a West Texas native; he was born in Ft. Stockton, Texas and grew up in Midland. Mike has an Associate’s Degree in Business Management from Howard Junior College in Big Spring, Texas, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Mike Ontiveros lives in Midland with his wife and 3 children; he states that his family is the most important part of his life and main motivator for success.

SPRING HOBBS

Billing & Office Manager

Spring Hobbs is the Billing & Office Manager for Iron Wheel Energy Services. Spring started her career in the Energy sector in 2009 with Advanced Stimulation Technologies (AST) in the accounting department where she gained experience and knowledge in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. Spring accepted an Accounts Receivable position for a small water disposal company in 2012, where she expanded her skills by working with multiple accounting programs such as Enertia and Peachtree. In 2016, Spring assumed the role of Billing & Office Manager for TegraExcel Energy Services, a sand hauling company based in the Permian Basin. Ms. Hobbs has an educational background in Medical Assisting from Midland College for Phlebotomy; as a native West Texan, she values hard work and enjoys making the most of any opportunity that comes her way.

WHITNEY NAVEJAS-OLIVA

Human Resource Manager

Whitney Navejas-Oliva is the Human Resources Manager for Iron Wheel Energy Services. Whitney’s career in the energy sector started in early 2017 when she was offered a position at Tegra Excel Energy Services as a billing administrator, a job where she worked to produce, distribute, and track over 500 monthly invoices while maintaining great customer relations with large international companies. She moved to Big Spring, TX in 2015 with her husband who worked at a job for an energy services company and has lived in Midland, TX since 2019, where she resides with her husband and 3 young children. Whitney Navejas-Oliva was born and raised in Southern California; she graduated from Martin Luther King High School in 2011 and holds an associates degree from Moreno Valley Community College. She has adopted the West Texas work ethic and is constantly learning new technical skills in the swiftly changing energy services field.
